ABOUT THE PROJECT

Capcom ( 株式会社カプコン ), one of the most legendary’s Japanese video game developers and publishers —  worldwide know for creating numerous multi-million selling game franchises — was looking for a series of trophies for their North American Street Fighter tournaments (1st to 3rd place).

Therefore, my objective was to manage the design and production of these trophies, which represented the 30th Anniversary of Street Fighter’s Tournament Series, with a team of designers and production stakeholders (based in Los Angeles, USA).

Our key design challenge was to come up with a design that was different from a standard Capcom trophy, while still resonating with the players and Street Fighter enthusiasts. And to do so, we’ve utilised arcade references as main creative inspiration, combined with the right colours, shape, size and style, to design and craft an epic arcade trophy that is now being presented to the winner each year for the next 9 years.
